Call for Papers Opens April 1, 2026!
SECCON is an annual cybersecurity conference that takes place in Oklahoma City.
Now in our fifth year, our goal is to bring experiences and insight to the cybersecurity and infosec community that is unique from other area conferences.
Our theme for 2026 is “Hack the Past to Protect the Future.”
The theme explores how lessons from historical breaches, vulnerabilities, and security failures can inform modern cybersecurity strategies. By “hacking the past,” we analyze old attack vectors, outdated systems, and prior incidents to uncover patterns and weaknesses that persist today. This retrospective approach enables proactive defense, guiding the development of resilient infrastructures and adaptive security models. Ultimately, leveraging historical insights ensures that future technologies and digital ecosystems are safeguarded against evolving threats.
While we are still accepting speakers on all matters cybersecurity, with this theme we are also specifically searching for speakers who can share insights, research, or real-world experiences on:
- Infamous Exploits & Breaches: Deep dives into well-known attacks (e.g., Stuxnet, WannaCry, SolarWinds) and their long-term impact.
- Lessons Learned: How past vulnerabilities inform today’s security posture and future-proofing.
- Attack Evolution: Tracing techniques from early exploits to modern threat landscapes.
- Historical Threat Analysis: Case studies on overlooked weaknesses that still persist.
- Defensive Innovation: How understanding old attack vectors drives new security solutions.
Ideal Submissions Include:
- Technical breakdowns of historical exploits.
- Research on recurring patterns in cyberattacks.
- Strategies for leveraging historical data to predict future threats.
- Practical frameworks for applying past lessons to current security challenges.
